'I came up with the idea of going into private practice after getting frustrated with the limitations of treatments being offered in the NHS. Not only can waiting times run into months, time which is all too valuable and in which many conditions could be assessed and treated! If you catch things early children have better outcomes and parents suffer much less stress and worry. But also Physiotherapy in the NHS takes on a management role rather than a treatment role these days. I often find parents who are not sure what they should be doing or how they should be doing it and NHS Physiotherapists do not have the time to show them properly! More often than not children are discharged once they are 'walking' but could progress to do so much more, to be so much more'.
